Well, you aren't imagining it!
Women have heightened sensitivity to pain the few days pre-period, during your period, and couple days post period. The exact time varies from person to person.
So if you are planning on getting some delicate areas waxed (we're looking at your Brazilian), our advice is to wait at least 3 days after your period has ended. It's still going to sting a wincy bit, but won't want to make you rip your eyeballs out.
